Darren Powell, the extraordinary mind behind FreeJac Nation, is a visionary and creative genius hailing from the vibrant streets of East Oakland. With a passion for DIY innovation and a deep connection to his community, Darren embodies the spirit of a true trailblazer.
Professionally, Darren's background in architectural design has nurtured his innate talent for turning everyday objects into extraordinary works of art. Inspired by his older brother Quincy, who instilled in him the spirit of invention, Darren has always had a knack for transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. Drawing inspiration from the 1992 movie Freejack, Darren coined the term "Freejacking," representing his unique approach of taking existing concepts and elevating them to the next level.
Through FreeJac Nation, Darren's pioneering spirit shines through in each meticulously crafted skateboard. Using a combination of PVC, plastic, and his patented mold, Darren has redefined the skateboarding experience. From Bluetooth-enabled boards to stunning car-shaped designs, his creations merge technology and artistry in a way that pushes the boundaries of what's possible.
